François Fournier named President & CEO of Virbac North America

Virbac announces François Fournier’s appointment as President & CEO of Virbac North America, effective January 7, 2019. His main mission is to lead and develop all North American Virbac activities, in line with the Virbac Group’s global strategy.

François Fournier’s priority will be to develop and grow our business activities in North America while ensuring a rapid recovery and improvement of our profitability. A French and U.S. resident, with long-standing experience in the pharmaceutical industry, François Fournier will accelerate in close collaboration with the local teams the different initiatives that have already been implemented to transform the subsidiary. 

François Fournier will be based in Fort Worth (Texas, USA) and will report to Hubert Trentesaux, area director for Europe and North America.

François Fournier received a Doctor in Pharmacy degree from the University of Reims and a Master’s degree from HEC International Business School – Paris. He began his career in 1995 in the field of cardiology at Hoechst Marion Roussel in Germany as a medical representative. He joined, after that, the Fournier Laboratories in 1996 in marketing, which led him to the position of general manager in Indonesia and China. In 2001, he joined Galderma as managing director of Germany.  He was the head of Global Marketing before managing different regions such as Latin America, Asia and Europe. As of 2009, he was the president of Galderma North America based in Fort Worth (USA, Texas) and joined Smith and Nephew in 2014 as president of Smith & Nephew Advanced Wound Management division-North America where he was also based in Fort Worth until 2017. He then became senior vice president and managing director of the APAC region, located in Singapore.
