Dr. Alan Taylor has spent his entire career in the animal health industry. Before joining Virbac, Dr. Taylor was European Director of e-business for Merial-Europe and, upon relocating to the U.S. in 2005, moved into the Business Development field where he served as the head of Business Development-North America and Global Pets for Merial, Ltd. Before joining Merial, Dr. Taylor was the Company Veterinary Officer for PetSmart U.K., prior to which he worked as a licensed veterinarian building a broad clinical and surgical experience in many parts of the world, including the U.K., Zimbabwe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. At Virbac, Dr. Taylor is responsible for generating external growth for Virbac North America and the Commonwealth countries through the acquisition, or licensing-in, of new products, and through the merger and acquisitions of third-party companies. Additionally, Dr. Taylor supports Virbac R&D through the licensing-in of new activities or technologies that could be further developed internally. Dr. Taylor is a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, U.K., the British Veterinary Association and the Licensing Executives Society; he also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery from the University of Glasgow, as well as an MBA from Henley Business School in the United Kingdom.
